Temporary Worker - ACUHO-I Intern

Position Description:

The ACUHO-I Intern, works with University Student Housing staff to assist in achieving our mission and goals. As a member of University Student Housing, the ACUHO-I Intern will assist in various areas of the department which could include the transition of summer semesters for summer school residents, summer conferences, supervision of student staff, on-call in the professional staff rotation and serving on summer committees within the department.

Texas Tech University will also provide experiences in various facets of housing. These experiences may include the residence facilities operations; central office and administrative functions; formal and informal meetings with leaders from The Division of Administration and Finance; The Division of Enrollment Management & Student Affairs; University Student Housing; Orientation; and summer conferences. Additionally, the intern will have the ability to develop the internship to better suit their educational needs and interests. All ACUHO-I interns will assist in the coordination, planning, and implementation of a drive-in workshop for interns throughout the SWACUHO region, hosted by Texas Tech University.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Interns will gain experiences in various facets of housing.   • The intern will have the ability to develop the internship to suit their educational needs and interests.

  • All ACUHO-I interns will assist in the coordination, planning, and implementation of a drive-in workshop for interns throughout the SWACUHO region, hosted by Texas Tech University.

  • The intern will attend departmental staff meetings and may have the opportunity to attend other meetings as available.

  • The intern may serve on departmental committees, task forces, or assist with collateral assignments to create and implement intentional experiences that support the department and university mission (assigned by supervisory personnel).
