Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operations and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Serves as liaison with university personnel and community at large. Works under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative and independent judgement.

Major/Essential Functions:
Coordination and oversight of financial wellbeing and literacy programs and services for students and families. Including but not limited to: participation and attendance during student recruitment processes, education prior to and during orientation, continual outreach, support, and education, and oversight for experiential learning opportunities.
Develop and sustain partnerships with relevant campus department and community agencies.
Oversee and administer department budgets and financial resources to ensure funds are utilized in an effective and accurate manner.
Provide ongoing assessment of student needs, program outcomes, and student usage to ensure continuous improvement, student success, and availability of assessment data.
Maintain awareness of best practices in financial literacy and wellbeing and engage with research and scholarship.
Support various Academic Innovation and Student Success initiatives as needed.

Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Evenings and weekends as needed, Attend conferences and trainings as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in financial planning or equivalent area. Accredited Financial Counselor® certificate, CFP® certification, or other appropriate designations. Knowledge of college student volunteers, advisement, training, recruitment, selection, and recognition.

The Director of Financial Well-being & Literacy will focus on improving the financial well-being and literacy of Texas Tech University students and their families. This position is an expansion of the currently existing Red to Black® Peer Financial Coaching Program.
