Position Description:

Performs coordinative work in the business or administrative operation of a specific department or college. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a department as well as the monitoring operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise staff or student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Serve as lead office coordinator and manager, promoting an overall professional office environment, using discretion in managing confidential data and supporting/anticipating requests of the Controller and Managing Directors

  • Provide business support, including but not limited to: planning, coordinating, and scheduling meetings and events, managing calendars, maintaining organized files and records, answering/directing phone calls, emails, and other forms of professional communication

  • Coordinate financial and business functions of the department including budget preparation and oversight, expense analysis and reporting, assistance with hiring and position management, department procurement, travel arrangements, timekeeping and reporting, inventory and supply management

  • Support strategic department initiatives by preparing and/or coordinating departmental newsletters, promotional materials, job/work aids, website updates, data analysis, policy update coordination, and other special projects as assigned

  • Strive to positively impact department morale by coordinating employee activities, programs, or celebrations and preparation of related materials, communication, and scheduling

Accounting Services oversees financial reporting, accounting, asset management, and post-award research administration for Texas Tech University.
