Job Summary

Successfully supervise our high volume clean room operations for a $70M+ manufacturer of fluid management solutions & technology for the Medical industry. The Senior Production Supervisor is responsible for managing day-to-day performance of our high volume clean room production including injection molding and mold setup. The Supervisor will support these teams in exceeding customer expectations while meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) focused around safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. The Supervisor will direct, coordinate, and manage day shift operations while using lean manufacturing strategies to drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring quality, cost management, workforce planning, and departmental administration in partnership with department supervisors on other shifts.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drives engagement in safety vision, Journey to Zero, to prevent incidents through focus on unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Plans and coordinates injection molding activities through the utilization of manpower, skills, and processes to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards are achieved daily.
  • Plans and facilitates daily huddles leveraging visual daily management to review safety information, department metrics, and daily objectives with the team.
  • Executes to a sales forecast managing the priorities of the shift operations to optimize daily output. Utilizes ERP system to optimize throughput while achieving the highest efficiency.
  • Demonstrates strong talent management ability focusing on hiring, coaching, directing, and developing employees while increasing engagement aligned with Nordson's values and competencies.
  • Partners with Finance team on measurement and reporting of manufacturing metrics and cost control activities.
  • Oversees development and maintenance of appropriate work instructions.
  • Communicates daily output and status updates to department supervisors on other shifts.
  • Frequently interacts with other supervisors and functional peer groups at various levels. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, answering time sensitive communication, conducting presentation of information concerning specific projects/schedules and daily review of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Cost metrics.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Operations, Engineering, Business or related field is required. Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing or operations supervisor role is required
  • Experiencing utilizing an ERP system in an Operations setting is required
  • Proven experience in leading and implementing lean methodologies with measurable results is required
  • Experience with injection molding manufacturing is a plus
  • Experience w rking in ISO13485 manufacturing environment or equivalent preferred
  • Experience operating in an FDA regulated environment is a plus
