Job Function:

Reporting to the VP of Engineering and Production, the Engineering Manager's primary function is to facilitate positive technical project outcomes as determined by project bid vs forecasted margin and utilization rates. These results are accomplished by ensuring all engineering tasks are sufficiently managed with proper oversight, and by shaping design direction and outcomes where required. This vital role includes mentoring and training current engineering team members as well as hiring and staff management.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

Accountable for technical detail. Management of CAD data and documentation. Support Project Management team in change control and scope / variations to contract. Assure the team is working to required processes and procedures. Streamline design times - create cost saving innovation. Supply information to project leadership for monitoring and control. Provide consultative support to team members on questions about standards, procedures, techniques, etc. Lead and motivate team members. Collaborate with business development and assist with quotations for new business. Continuity selling with respect to current business. Ensure customer satisfaction. Monitor all projects with regards to design. Verify Design Reviews / Risk Assessments are being carried out. Assist Design Leads and Project Managers with technical back up. Develop and maintain employee training records. Manage utilization of appropriate personnel on all projects. Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering required. Minimum 8 years of industry experience. Must be conversant with nuclear design procedures. Must have working knowledge of equipment design under ISO 9001 or NQA-1 Quality Assurance Programs. This position requires the incumbent to work with export controlled items.
