Emerson Shipping Clerk in Louisville, Kentucky

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Verifies the accuracy of outgoing shipments and orders

  • Computes duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of product that is exported to foreign counties

  • Processes US and International paperwork for transaction completeness and accuracy

  • Ensures that safety techniques are used in all aspects of daily work responsibilities

  • Receives and reads customer orders to identify the item(s) to be pulled

  • Fills customers’ orders following specifications on the order form

  • Package orders using appropriate shipping containers and packaging

  • Operates standard or automatic machines, such as electronic scales and tape machines

  • Can work split shifts, when required

  • Accurately prepares orders for shipment to include secure packaging and wrapping

  • Responsible for accurate shipments (product and documentation)

  • Responsible accurate reporting and on-time shipments of customer products as required

  • Completes other assignments as assigned by management or designate

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • Minimum of two years warehouse inventory experience

  • Forklift operation

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems

  • Must be a self-starter and able to perform without direct supervision

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds intermittently

  • Ability to sit and/or stand daily for up to 10 hours

  • Ability to defer to management when appropriate

  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role
