Description
The Building Healthy Minds in Nature (BHMIN) or Healthy Tomorrows Project is a collaboration between community parks, public health, nature experts, and physicians with the goal of empowering youth in South and East LA County to lead healthy lives. Students will get hands-on experience in facilitating a health program while being exposed to careers in public health, non-profits, and academia. In this role, the student will provide clerical and administrative support to the project. Work will include data entry, paperwork completion, converting files, scanning and copying documents, and assisting with procts as needed.
Hourly range: $16.25-$19.25Qualifications
Required:
Experience working with teens ages 12 to 18
Dedicated to working with members of underserved communities.
Experience working independently with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Excellent writing skills and editing correspondence and written materials.
Ability to multi-task under deadline, balance competing priorities and solve problems creatively
Knowledge of PCs, windows operation system, and related word processing and spreadsheet software (such as MS Word, Access, etc.).
Currently registered as UCLA student
Preferred:
- Access to reliable transportation to travel to respective community events
