Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Los Angeles, California

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in our Non-Profit organization located in Los Angeles, California. The role involves a variety of accounting tasks, mainly focusing on account reconciliation, general ledger management, and month-end close procedures. You will also be expected to have a strong understanding of popular accounting software like Oracle, SAP, and NetSuite.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation regularly, ensuring accuracy and compliance

• Oversee the maintenance and control of General Ledger accounts and business transactions, applying generally accepted accounting principles

• Handle bank reconciliations and prepare journal entries as part of the month-end close process

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting

• Operate and manage Oracle, SAP, and NetSuite accounting systems

• Act promptly in case of any discrepancies or financial issues that might arise

• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and standards

• Collaborate with the accounting team and other departments to achieve financial objectives

• Provide support during audits or assessments, as required

• Continually improve systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting processes. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the accounting field, preferably in a non-profit organization

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger management

• Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries accurately and efficiently

• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Experience in performing Month End Close activities

• Familiarity with financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP

• Strong ethical standards with a high level of honesty and integrity

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in clear terms

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required

• Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred.
