ASM Global Security Manager (FT - LACC) in Los Angeles, California

Job Summary:

The Security Manager is responsible for the safety and security of guests, clients, and employees of the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC). Additionally, this manager is responsible for the performance and conduct of all security employees assigned to various shifts, assignments and events.

    Essential Duties:

  • Monitors the performance and conduct of all LACC Security employees. Responsible for providing exceptional guest Service & Security presence at all LACC events through pre-event planning, review of staffing plans. Collaborate with the Security Management Team in managing all approved security service provider that are on the approved contractor list. Ensure the Bike Team is fully functional and all required repair for equipment and/or personnel are properly trained for assigned bike duties. Responsible for creating & conducting on-going in-service training for all employees. Recruits, interviews, trains, and develops LACC Security Team Members in pursuit of World Class Service. Position will be primarily responsible for the 24/7 Security operation and may be required to assist with other duties as needed​.

  • Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all logs and incident reports generated. Conducts internal investigations when necessary. Ensure that day to day Security operations is managed and a professional workplace is maintained. Security Department SOPs are current and up to date with State and ASM Security or City requirements.

  • Meet all assigned tasks within the guidelines & deadlines set by the Vice President of Security. This includes managing projects that are related to Capital Improvement, Alterations Improvement and other special security projects/presentations deemed necessary for the LACC.

  • Comply, implement, and adhere to all legal & ethical instructions given by ASM Global Corporate and LACC Senior Management

  • Manage all systems related to CCTV, access control/badging, radio and emergency call boxes which are monitored out of the Security Command Center. Work with all system contractors to ensure all issues are resolved

  • Serves as a LACC liaison with campus security partners, outside law enforcement and other city agencies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):

  • A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency (Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree Preferred) Area of Study : General (Security, Business, Venue, Hospitality or Entertainment Management Preferred)

  • Years of related work experience: 5 Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a sports venue, entertainment and/or convention facility.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience staffing/planning in a sports venue, entertainment, or convention facility.

  • Must be able to oversee workflow and take proactive action to ensure the Security Department’s performance goals.

  • Must be able to represent ASM Global and LACC in an exemplary manner.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Must be able to exhibit leadership qualities, motivate/engage team members & lead by example.

  • Effectively collaborate and resolve conflicts with others.

  • Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate sound judgement in stressful, highly active situations.

  • A good understanding of the security & guest services roles in a facility environment.

  • Must be able to adapt to changes quickly and effectively.

  • Must be able to create, implement and present training materials and programs to all LACC employees.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Required variable work schedule such as late hours, early mornings, extended hours, holidays, and weekends.

  • Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):

  • Law enforcement experience

  • Military experience

  • Certified Protection Professional CPP or Physical Security Professional (PSP) ADOBE experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Ungerboek preferred.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate in office setting and moderate to high during events.

Additional Comments:

This is an onsite position that requires in-person collaboration with multiple departments and coverage of events from start to finish.

Pay Rate: $70,000 - $85,000 Annual Salaried/Exempt.
