U.S. Army Reserve Command Logistics Managment Specialist in Los Alamitos, California

Summary About the Position: This position is with the 79th Sustainment Support Command, Headquarters, located in Los Alamitos, California. Responsibilities Advise Director and subordinate staff on the logistics status and logistics support required and available for current or proposed operations. Research and interpret regulations, directives, and policies to instruct staff on logistical matters. Execute activities that relate to receipt, storage, and issuing of supplies. Analyze reports and request for assistance in resolving logistical problems. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates and provide regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses. Recommend approval or disapproval of request for expenditure funds based on priority of request and funds availability. Provide guidance to subordinate elements on formulation budget estimates for logistical requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work developing logistical plans or policies to enhance command posture and readiness; overseeing logistics program effectiveness; advising on logistics requirements and issues; and evaluating employee performance or development. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualifications requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget Administration Leadership Organizational Performance Analysis Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. This position may be made permanent without further competition. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Career Program (CP) 17 - Material Maintenance Management position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed 3 years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
