Actalent Pharmacy Technician in Longwood, Florida

Actalent is currently

seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join the

team at a mail-order pharmacy

Responsibilities: As a Pharmacy

Technician, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Prescription Filling: Accurately fill prescription items in compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations. Package medications for dispensing and delivery.

  • Labeling: Properly label products, including cautionary or auxiliary labels, ensuring patient safety.

  • Inventory Management: Participate in periodic inventory checks, stock shelves, and remove expired items from inventory.

  • Medication Preparation: Prepare various medications, including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments. Non-sterile compounding may be required.

  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional and friendly manner.

  • Returns Processing: Handle returned medications from the facility, either for credit or proper disposal.

  • Training: Assist in training new employees.

  • Additional Duties: Perform at least one of the following specialized tasks:

  • Work in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.

  • Operate automated machines for prepacking drugs.

  • Manage inventory levels, identify expired medications, and adhere to pharmacy standards for Days on Hand.

  • Input patient data and medication orders into the computer system for label production (data entry).

  • Mix and package IV medications, sanitize the IV room, equipment, and hood.

  • Service facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).

Skills and

Qualifications:

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician (Rpht)

  • Experience in long-term care pharmacy settings

  • Proficient in data entry

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Familiarity with pharmacy operations

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) preferred

  • Prior authorization knowledge

  • Valid Pharmacy Technician license

  • Retail pharmacy experience

  • Order entry proficiency

Additional

Information:

  • Experience with mail-order pharmacy is a plus.
