Complete Description
As a Database Administrator III, you will play a vital role in maintaining and administering multi-user computer systems, virtual computer systems, and COTS software products.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring and addressing system performance issues, patching system, and operating system software, maintaining software licenses, and assisting with account management and system vulnerability management.
Additionally, you will collaborate with the Information Assurance (IA) team to provide access to system logs, monitor user accounts, and promptly respond to security issues or incidents.
Furthermore, you will implement and maintain the smooth operation and physical design of databases, ensuring backup recovery capabilities, and making recommendations for enhancements and improvements.
Your expertise will contribute to maintaining security and integrity controls and formulating policies, procedures, and standards related to database management.
Patch system and operating system software to maintain up-to-date and secure environments.
Manage software licenses to ensure compliance and proper usage.
Assist the Information Assurance team with account management and system vulnerability management.
Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases.
Maintain security and integrity controls within databases.
Formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.
Minimum Requirements
Database administration experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and/or MongoDB (PostgreSQL preferred).
Experience with Red Hat Linux environments.
Experience working with Agile Methodologies.
Scripting experience (Python, Ruby, PowerShell, etc.).
Familiarity with IBM Advanced Interactive eXecutive (AIX) Unix Operating Systems.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Experience working in DevOps/DevSecOps environments.
Preferred Requirements
Understanding of Virtualization using VMWare.
Solid understanding of PostgreSQL.
