Job Summary and Qualifications

This position is responsible for high-level assessment and problem resolution in regard to resolving patient concerns and complaints. Must exhibit high degree of tact and diplomacy and ability to handle sensitive issues in a way that fosters a positive patient experience. Meets weekly with Director and supervisor team to review and address all patient issues.

Oversees the functions of Out Patient relations with the hospital staff & performs service recovery for patient experience. This person also serves as Co Leader for the Out Patient Test & Treat Committee and provides all of the reports necessary for the meeting. Will conduct meeting in Leaders absence.

Serves as a liaison between patients and staff, responds to requests for service, and assists in locating orders, insurance authorizations and ensuring throughput for our out patients & in patients.

Supervises Radiology Coordinators. Performs job evaluations, disciplinary action & professional growth.

Manage legal requests for the imaging department including internal and external legal requests. Must be done under HIPPA guidelines and HCA policies.

Assist the Radiology Director with workflow for service and equipment contracts for the Radiology department and file management of contracts/service plans.

Build annual Radiology competencies for all modalities in Radiology (CT, XRAY, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Transport & Clerical Coordinators) This includes maintaining all the current employee files and new employee’s licensure and certifications.

Place orders in the SMART system to include capital requests; submit invoices to Accounts Payable and maintain records of orders.

Order all office supplies for the Radiology Department.

Maintain all record retentions logs for IR scheduling, spine injections and quality logs according to the Retention Policies.

Maintain and manage ACR documentation for the Radiology Equipment.

Assist Radiology Director and Supervisors with survey documentation and record management. This includes support during an ACR, Joint Commission or State Accreditation Survey.

Prepare documentation for communication that goes out to the department including meetings, communication boards, email and newsletter.

Collaborates with Admissions staff, Enhanced Scheduling, and the modality Supervisors on a consistent basis’ to improve the patient experience.

Cover the Radiology Coordinator Duties as needed. This includes checking in patients, obtaining prior imaging, medical records and navigating them through their Radiology visit.

What qualifications you will need:

• Associate’s Degree preferred. May substitute experience for education.

• 3 – 5 years’ experience preferred
