Job Description

Your purpose will be:

To lead and oversee the bar operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery in adherence to brand standards and hotel policies. Mentor, train, and empower the team to consistently meet and exceed expectations. Take charge of the bar's performance, assuming responsibility in the absence of higher management. Additionally, serve as a compelling ambassador for the bars and The Savoy on social media platforms. Engage in promoting the venue during bar takeovers or external events, fostering positive connections with guests and industry.

 

You will be accountable for:

  • Leading the bar during designated shifts, allocating tasks, and ensuring smooth operations in the absence of Bar Manager.

  • Preparing the bar area and floor thoroughly for efficient service.

  • Providing guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of excellence in service and drinks making.

  • Taking and fulfilling food and beverage orders with finesse and in line with established standards.

  • Collaborating with the Bar Manager to develop and train team members.

  • Overseeing schedules, sales incentives, training, and additional outlet responsibilities.

  • Engaging in hands-on work behind the bar or as a server when necessary.

  • Anticipating and attending to guest needs promptly and courteously.

  • Delegating tasks to ensure seamless service delivery at all times.

  • Upholding Fairmont Hotels and Resorts service standards consistently.

  • Adhering to beverage procedures, including ordering, stocking, and dispensing.

  • Demonstrating proactive guest service, addressing issues promptly and effectively.

  • Showcasing in-depth knowledge of the bar list to enhance upselling opportunities.

  • Proficiently managing cash, credit card transactions, and room payments.

  • Ensuring the bar maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout service.

  • Actively participating in regular communication meetings and training sessions.

  • Cultivating clear and effective communication among team members and other departments.

  • Assisting in the recruitment process within the bar department.

  • Leading the beverage program within the designated bar, curating an exceptional selection and ensuring its alignment with The Savoy’s standards and guest preferences.

  • Spearheading the creation, implementation, and success of the cocktail list, crafting innovative and enticing offerings that resonate with the clientele while complementing the bar's ambiance and theme.

  • Being actively engaged on social media platforms, serving as a proactive advocate for the bar and The Savoy. Promote the venue, share behind-the-scenes glimpses, and connect with guests and industry to enhance the bar's reputation.

Participating in and orchestrating bar takeovers, as well as attending industry events. Cultivate relationships with guests and industry professionals, showcasing the bar's unique offerings and contributing to its prominence within the industry.

Qualifications

What you will need to do in this role?

  • 3-5 years of experience in luxury hospitality.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confidence in interacting across all organizational levels.

  • Enthusiastic, positive personality fostering trust and rapport.

  • Proven organizational prowess, adept at meeting deadlines with high-quality results.

  • Relevant job-related skills as per Accountable Duties.
