JOB OVERVIEW

The Technical Services Manager’s role is to plan, coordinate, supervise and participate in the activities related to the platform configuration, device configuration, and configuration management of the Nuclear Security Systems. This position is also responsible for overseeing technical resources during onsite system installations. This individual will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide his/her team on issues related to the configuration and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems which are used to maintain critical infrastructure in the Nuclear marketplace.

DELIVERABLE DESCRIPTION:

  • The NSSC organization focuses on delivering custom security solutions which are developed in-house

  • These access control, alarming and video assessment systems are used to secure nuclear power plants

  • Our system platform consists of Windows-based servers, Windows-based workstations, Cisco switches, and a number of networked peripheral devices

  • These systems are delivered to U.S. Government-regulated industries

  • These systems must meet regulatory cyber security requirements, utilizing overlapping security controls to achieve a defense-in-depth strategy that supports the regulatory requirements and guidance provided under NEI-0809

  • Customer systems are air-gapped and never connect to the internet, so all configuration must be performed in-office

  • Each system has the same core functionality but with a different implementation, which requires you to be flexible, organized, and with a keen attention to detail

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This team has NO on-call duties!

  • In-office participation is required for the first 90 days, then 4 days in-office weekly

  • Up to 10 weeks of travel, with a trip duration of two to five days

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a small team of technical experts in operating system, networking, and security solution deployment

  • Develop an effective balance between project deliverables and team leadership, prioritizing and addressing the needs of both AUTS and its customers

  • Commitment to proactive communication and management of expectations

  • Outstanding leadership and emotional intelligence, with the ability to make quick yet informed decisions with great judgment

  • Coaching, mentoring and consistent professional development of staff

  • Strong technical skills, as demonstrated in past technical roles and self-directed research, learning, and certifications

  • Professional, solution-minded, and friendly demeanor with a strength in building strong business relationships internally and externally

  • Detail-focused personality with a penchant for organization, documentation, and process

  • Facilitate collaboration both between your team members and the other departments

  • Provide oversight and manage project schedules for technical services team

  • Analyze platform design requirements and implement design plans based on requirements

  • Document platform configuration

  • Create installation and configuration documents as required

  • Troubleshoot or guide troubleshooting of complex hardware and software systems

  • Assist installation team during customer deployments

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in information systems, computer information technology, engineering, computer science or related major

  • Associate's Degree in information systems, computer information technology, engineering, computer science or related major with a minimum of seven (7) years of IT experience

  • High school or equivalent with a minimum of nine (9) years of IT experience and applicable industry certifications

  • Possess a valid driver’s license in order to travel to customer locations

  • Minimum of 5 years in an IT role

  • Minimum of 3 years in a managerial, supervisor, or leadership role

  • Authorization to work in the US

  • Ability to travel to out-of-state customer locations for one or more weeks at a time

  • Ability to pass an extensive background check, including FBI criminal records check, psychological testing, employment and reference checks to determine any substance abuse problems, and investigation into personal finances
