HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

  • The manufacturing engineer assists with all of the aspects of the manufacturing process, focusing on the design, quality, and operation of the integrated systems and machine tools used for production and inspection of the assembly process.

  • The manufacturing engineer implements new processes, maintains methods and operation sequence in the manufacturing process, troubleshoots problems and optimizes the process.

  • The manufacturing engineer determines the necessary personnel and equipment capabilities for effective execution of the process, establishes validation criteria for on-going effective process execution including machine accuracy and repeatability, product measurement, and personnel capability studies.

  • The position may require some domestic travel and periodic Asian travel in support of manufacturing and quality initiatives and activities. This position supports products in the semiconductor or other industries as required. Position will reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

  • Achievement of objectives must include an overriding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility.

    WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Responsible for selecting and maintaining best material combinations to maximize quality and optimize manufacturing cost and efficiency.

  • Analyze data and use all available resources to maintain product performance and meet quality objectives.

  • Recommends manufacturing line equipment and fixtures based performing product process flow and time standards analysis studies

  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to augment equipment qualification activities for new products and legacy equipment to increase productivity and enhance quality

  • Maintain, implement, and administer manufacturing execution system software (MES)

  • Creating and change manufacturing, assembly, and operation sequence instructions (OMS) for assembly process and MES software.

  • Maintain, monitor statistics, and perform detailed failure analysis of failed equipment (production and RMA)

  • Works directly with engineering, sales/customer support, technicians, and customers to perform detailed failure analysis and corrective action reports and activities.

  • Work directly with customers, outside contractors, and vendors to accomplish manufacturing and operations project objectives such as BV (Build Verification) and witness builds for new products or improvement of existing equipment

  • Work closely with design engineering to document and resolve issues discovered during new product introduction and product release scale-up phases

  • Assist with ongoing development of factory acceptance criteria and methods for product final testing, qualification, and quality inspection.

  • Develop machine and product measurement methods to ensure product quality and performance.

  • Works directly on quality, 6S lean, and cross-departmental projects and related tasks as needed

    WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial, Mechanical and/or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent work experience required

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering role including process development, quality control / quality assurance, production, and testing

  • Hands on ERP (Oracle and/or SAP preferred) transactions

  • High mix, low volume manufacturing process development and lean management

  • Factory floor and manufacturing line experience preferred

  • Must have related experience in semiconductor manufacturing equipment and/or contract manufacturing

  • Specific experience in robot assembly, manufacturing, and testing a plus

  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems software is desired

  • Must possess strong computer skills including Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, Visio, and PowerPoint

  • Project management experience using Microsoft Project or similar Gantt Charts to monitor and manage task and projects status a plus

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams simultaneously on multiple projects is required

  • Experience with continuous improvement, SPC methodologies, and data tools desired

  • Knowledge or certification of Six Sigma, 6S, and lean methodologies and practices desirable

  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must have analytical and problem solving skills

  • Must have strong organizational skills

  • Intermediate: Level I with 2-5 years of experience, including internship as a Manufacturing Engineer

    Physical & Environmental requirements:

  • A typical day may require continuous sitting and/or standing in an office setting with occasional breaks. Standing and walking around 100k sq. ft. facility extensively throughout the day.

  • Able to comfortably lift 35 pounds without injury.

  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.

  • Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

  • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • May constantly be moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

  • May occasionally be adjusting or moving objects up to 100 pounds in all directions.

  • May constantly communicate with others to exchange information.

  • May constantly be repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools.

  • Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

  • Occasionally subjected to low temperatures and high temperatures

  • Occasional sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
