Description An up-and-coming firm has teamed up with Robert Half to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team. In this role, you will have responsibility over the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. When it's time for the monthly close, you'll be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You'll also be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A very involved position, the Staff Accountant spends a good deal of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Littleton, Colorado based firm has a long-term contract / temporary to hire position available, and offers an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.

What you get to do every single day

• Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

• Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision

• Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management

• Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

• Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

• Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules Requirements - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

• Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Financial Statement experience highly desired

• Analyze Financial Statements experience preferred

• Bookkeeping experience

• Strong familiarity with payroll

• Full charge bookkeeping experience preferred

• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

• Competent with spreadsheets and databases

• Recent and relevant accounting experience

• Proficient in ERP systems

• Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

• Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent attention to detail
