Navistar, Inc. Senior Systems Analyst in Lisle, Illinois

Position Overview

The Navistar Procurement IT group is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to join our team.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a system or systems within the Procurement IT area, to include ownership of updates, prioritizing system enhancement requests and thoroughly understanding the business need/reason for system changes. This role will work cross functionally with corporate IT for coding, hardware and software updates as well as key stakeholders and the business to understand their needs. The Sr. Systems Analyst will ensure that IT projects under their span and control are on time and on budget. They will engage with both internal and external teams to support and facilitate projects as necessary. They will also responsible to provide descriptive and diagnostic analytics along with visualization to support Procurement Business Intelligence at Navistar. Must possess strong analytical skills and expertise with SQL, Excel and Power BI to analyze large data sets. The ability to clean, normalize and connect data from multiple sources is a must.This role facilitates and manages development timelines and cross functional communication in support of on time launches. This is a highly visible, very challenging and rewarding position in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, performs and implements process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma)

  • Diagrams and evaluates existing processes

  • Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities

  • Collects data to identify root cause of problems. Measures performance against process requirements and aligns improvement to performance shortfalls.

  • Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality.

  • May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement and control.

  • Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes.

  • Build and manage relationships with cross-functional teams, vendors and management

  • Anticipate potential problems, be proactive and manage changes to ensure projects are on time and within budget

  • Must be a skilled problem-solver who follows through on implementation

  • Manage tight deadlines in a high volume, fast paced environment

  • Interact with vendors and cross functional teams to ensure timing & quality expectations of the program are met

  • Open and frequent communication on program status to cross functional and procurement leadership teams

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 8 years business process improvement, lean or six sigma experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 6 years of business process improvement, lean or six sigma experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • At least 10 years of business process improvement, lean or six sigma experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

  • Expert MS Excel skills

  • Project Management experience

  • Strong understanding of Power BI

  • Strong PowerPoint and MS Project skills

  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects (average of 3-5 projects simultaneously)

  • Ability to make presentations to senior leadership

  • Experience with data extraction, cleansing, manipulation, and generation using SQL

  • Data visualization experience in Power BI and DAX, M languages

  • Excellent communication skills / strong business partner

  • Programming experience (R, Python, MATLAB)

  • Plotly Dash experience a plus

  • Hadoop / Spark experience a plus

  • Cloud Platforms (Azure / Amazon Web Services) a plus

  • Data ETL & Pipelines a plus

  • Source code control (Git) a plus
