Navistar, Inc. Digital Sculptor Tech Expert in Lisle, Illinois
Position Overview
We are seeking a Digital Sculptor Tech Expert to join the Aerodynamics team at Navistar! The Aerodynamics team is responsible for executing research and development in commercial vehicle aerodynamics to deliver Best-in-Class performance through our products. In this role, you will be responsible for creating 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design) models for Wind Tunnel, Simulation, and Track testing. The models you generate will be used to guide the next generation of Navistar trucks.
Responsibilities
Lead the design of functional aerodynamic models to be use in wind tunnel testing and simulation
Create concept surfaces for aerodynamic studies
Convert Industrial design concepts into aerodynamic models
Simplify production CAD geometry for input into aerodynamic simulations
Maintain digital inventory of wind tunnel parts
Prepare 3D geometry for rapid prototyping
Develop solutions to design and model problems
Mentor and train less experienced digital sculptors on the team
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering/Industrial Design Technology
At least 8 years of years of industrial design experience
At least 1 year of lead experience
OR
Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology/Industrial Design Technology
At least 6 years of industrial design experience
At least 1 year of lead experience
OR
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 10 years of industrial design experience
At least 1 year of lead experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
Advanced surface generation proficiency in Unigraphics NX
Experience with Siemens TeamCenter
Ability to generate engineering drawings
Experience making prototype parts
Ability to work with concept data to complete 3D physical models
