Overview

Performs professional environmental assessments and develops pollution control programs for Company facilities and operations. Performs assigned tasks under immediate supervision using established procedures.

Responsibilities

Gathers, correlates, and analyzes specific scientific data using established procedures. Performs a variety of routine tasks that will improve the familiarization with environmental methods, practices, and programs of the Company. Assists in the review and analysis of proposed/existing environmental legislation/regulations. Assists in the preparation of routine reports as necessary for submittal to regulatory agencies. Assists in the review of testing and analytical procedures for assessing environmental impacts of facilities. Assists in conducting and/or evaluating studies and experiments to assess the impact of operating and construction activities on the environment. Assists other scientists with large projects, as needed. Reviews industry practices and keeps abreast of technical developments within field of expertise. All other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONALEXPERIENCE-Bachelor's degree in environmental science, applied science, or related technical discipline is required;SPECIALQUALIFICATIONS-Some professional environmental regulatory and/or technical experience is preferred. Possess knowledge of environmental theories, principles, and practices. Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills. Comfortable with communicating with all stakeholder groups. Ability to use formal training in practical application to work assignments. Able to process data and plant conditions to assess environmental performance, opportunities for improvement, etc.;WORKCONDITIONS-Exposure to stress, dirt, heat, noise, etc.;PHYSICALEFFORTS-Frequent standing, walking, or operating in work-controlled position.

Remote Work

The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. Assigned work location may change. In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.
