LC State invites applications for the position of Program Assistant.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: \$47,325 - \$48,500

Degree Required:

  • Bachelor\'s degree from a regionally accredited college or university

Required Qualifications:

  • Two years of related experience.
  • Experience working with websites and social media.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including telephone and electronic communication etiquette.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to work with diverse individuals ranging from students to faculty, staff, employers, legislators, and community members.
  • Flexible team player.
  • Problem-solver who seeks creative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master\'s degree.
  • Experience coaching others.
  • Experience in higher education and student leadership.
  • Knowledge of and experience in hiring practices, job counseling/coaching techniques, interviewing methods, professional development training
  • Experience promoting/marketing programs.
  • Experience facilitating
  • Experience with project management including research, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Experience using the following programs: Colleague, Microsoft Access, and Qualtrics.

Responsibilities:

  1. Represent LC State and the Student Employment & Career Readiness Center during campus and/or community events, and serve on various campus and/or community committees, to enhance awareness and visibility of LC State and the Student Employment & Career Readiness Center.
  2. Work with divisions and departments to cultivate connections between students, employers, and alumni.
  3. Delivers presentations and workshops for academic departments and student organizations to engage and promote our career readiness services.
  4. Collaborate on developing and enhancing websites, software, micro-credentials, marketing materials, and presentations; integrate technology into daily operations, communications, programs, and presentations.
  5. Maintain familiarity with campus departments and divisions, and understand the education/training, career opportunities, and expectations.
  6. Engage staff, faculty, and alumni in identifying opportunities for students and employers.
  7. Effectively plan, coordinate, market, and implement events, programs, and projects. Examples could include but are not limited to the Career Fairs, Lunch and Learns, and Student Employee Appreciation Event.
  8. Promote career-related opportunities using multiple communication methods.
  9. Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
