Argonne National Laboratory Surface Scattering and Microdiffraction Group Leader in Lemont, Illinois

Argonne is a multidisciplinary science and engineering research center, where talented scientists and engineers work together to answer the biggest questions facing humanity, from how to obtain affordable clean energy to protecting ourselves and our environment. Ever since we were born out of the University of Chicago’s work on the Manhattan Project in the 1940s, our goal has been to make an impact — from the atomic to the human to the global scale.

Argonne is looking for a group leader to manage, lead, and mentor the members of the Surface Scattering and Microdiffraction group (SSM) within the X-ray Science Division (XSD) at the Advanced Photon Source. You will also lead the development of scientific programs based on surface scattering, microdiffraction and coherent methods, and guide other scientists in these activities. Lastly, the group leader will develop a personal R&D program recognized for world-wide impact.
