UPMC Urology of Central PA in Lebanon, PA is adding a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to their team. You would be joining an office with an upbeat and friendly staff, with a team first culture. This is a smaller office with one physician and one advanced practice provider. The entire staff works well together and enjoys the day-to-day while making a difference patient's lives.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be expected to work with a physician or APP each day. The LPN will be hands-on, working with the provider and carrying out patient orders such as helping with treatments and procedures, obtaining urinalysis, giving injections, or assisting with minor procedures in office. This LPN position will challenge you to use your nursing skills and critical thinking on a regular basis, functioning at or near the top of your license each day.

HOURS: Monday 8am-5pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8am-4:30pm, Friday's 8am-4pm. NO WEEKENDS, NO MAJOR HOLIDAYS, NO ON-CALL, NO LATE EVENINGS.

Responsibilities:

  • During rooming process, assess patient's general condition, take vital signs, weight, and obtain medical history.

  • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.

  • Urodynamic studies, cystoscopies (with and without stent removal) vasectomies, prostate biopsies, etc

  • Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM injections.

  • Phone Triage with patients

  • Care and management of intermittent catheterization and suprapubic catheterization

  • Call patients with test results

  • Assist with medication refills and other in-basket needs.

  • Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.

  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials and communicating physician advice/instructions to patients/family.

  • Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).

  • Comply with all policies and procedures.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.

  • Flexibility with job responsibilities on day-to-day basis

  • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.

  • One-year clinical experience preferred, but not required.

  • New graduates encouraged to apply.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Clearances must be dated within 90 days.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
