Freeport-McMoRan Inc. Supervisor Warehouse - Climax Mine in Leadville, Colorado
Climax Molybdenum is the world's leading producer of molybdenum and has a long, successful history of doing business in a safe, highly efficient and socially responsible manner. We have operated in Colorado for more than 100 years and today have mining and milling operations near Leadville, Kremmling and Empire. Our Climax mine is located between Frisco and Leadville. Our Henderson mine and mill are an hour's drive apart - separated by the Continental Divide and a 15-mile conveyor system (10 miles is underground). The Henderson mine is about 50 miles west of Denver and 10 miles west of Empire, and the mill is located between Dillon and Kremmling.
Description: Under general supervision, supervise, coordinate and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit.
- Assign, supervise, and review the work of staff for assigned work unit
- Implement production plans according to approved schedule
- May participate in the full range of daily operational duties, performing the most difficult
- Inspect and evaluate work in progress, identifies any problem areas, and may direct remedial action
- Conduct performance evaluations on subordinate staff
- Prepare estimates of the staffing, materials, and equipment requirements for projected work activities
- Maintain an inventory of parts and materials
- Approve purchases of materials and equipment; maintain time, materials and equipment use reports
- Requisition tools, supplies, materials and equipment
- Train staff in safety procedures
- Maintain safety data sheets for crews
Minimum Qualifications: - High School diploma or GED and five (5) years of related operational experience - Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required - Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques - Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects - Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administration - Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions - Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards - Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
