Description

We are offering a Staff Accountant role for a client located in Mercer County, New Jersey. As a Staff Accountant there will be a focus on managing various financial aspects including loan repayments and financial reporting, as well as ensuring proper inflows and outflows for all bond-related transactions. The role also involves improving the operational efficiency and accuracy of the Accounting, Finance, and Budget departments.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee loan repayments, ensuring correct application of principal, interest, earnings credits, financial incentives, and fees to borrower accounts per applicable agreements.

• Manage the distribution of semiannual Trustee payments.

• Oversee the movement of funds into and out of various accounts.

• Manage the accounting aspects of long-term bond closings and defeasances.

• Verify and record the administrative fee and loan interest accrual earned, and bond interest accrual paid for all financing programs.

• Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline financial processes and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in non-profit, government, public sector, or related industry.

• Demonstrated experience in maintaining and updating the General Ledger

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
