Minimum Qualifications NY HELPS: This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At this time, agencies may recruit and hire employees by making temporary appointments. In May 2024, if a temporary NY HELPS employee is satisfactorily performing in the position, the appointment will be changed from temporary pending Civil Service Commission Action to permanent non-competitive and the official probationary period will begin.At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.Non-Competitive Minimum Qualifications:• A bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science; OR• A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and one year of experience in information technology; OR• 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and one year of professional experience in information technology; OR• Two years of professional experience in information technology.Competitive Minimum Qualifications: • You must be currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title, eligible under the 55 b/c program, or eligible to transfer to this title under Section 52.6 and/or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.Preferred Qualifications:• 3 years or more experience with Programming with Java or .Net.• 3 years or more experience with SQL.• 3 years or more experience with API development and testing.• 1-3 years of experience with Reporting and Analytics tools like PowerBI. • 1 or more years’ experience with automated testing tools.

Duties Description The Information Technology Specialist 2 will be a member of the Client Services group. The incumbent will be responsible for answering Service Center calls from OAG Staff. Candidates must possess strong communication and customer service skills. Job duties include phone support for users statewide using remote tools to offer one-on-one assistance. In additional conducting on-site support with the customers may be required. The goal is to provide same day problem resolution. Any unresolved problems are routed via our ticketing software (ServiceNow) to the appropriate group for resolution. Duties include but are not limited to: • Provide courteous level 1 and 2 support to end users through our phone and email system within the OAG’s internal IT helpdesk (IT Client Services Call Center) . • Comprehensively monitor, document and update incidents as needed within the IT Client Services Call Center ticket tracking system (Service Now). • Responsible for reviewing and referring unresolved issues to the appropriate second and third level groups for resolution. • Follow up with IT groups that aged tickets are being properly followed up with the customer. • Provide a proficient working knowledge of Windows 10 OS in a Windows Active Directory environment. • Provide end user support for Microsoft O365, along with other Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive). • Assist the end user in virtual tele-conferencing software (MS Teams, WebEx and Zoom). • Troubleshoot software products installed on AG equipment. • Perform other duties as assigned.
