*SUMMARY: *
Under close supervision, performs entry-level duties as assigned in the installation, modification, preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment or machinery used in the Minting operation.
*Maintenance Technician I may advance to the higher tech level after gained experience and demonstrated abilities.
MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with preventative maintenance (fluids, filters, lubes)
- Experience with gearboxes (rebuilds, ratios, alignments)
- Experience with conveyors (setup, motors, sprockets, belts)
- Experience with cooling towers (strainers, filters, pumps, general upkeep)
- Experience with light electrical troubleshooting (check fuses, contactor overloads, motor wiring, and ground faults)
Technical Skills
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to use hoists, dollies, rollers, hand trucks, and forklift
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to maintain a sterile environment
- Ability to correctly monitor and use gauges, machines, and equipment
- Ability to read work orders/daily production schedules
- Good basic math skills
Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to properly communicate with co-workers and supervisors
- Ability to work as a team with minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented and focused on accuracy

Inspect, diagnose and repair faulty production machinery using a variety of hand tools, power tools and voltage meters.
Light troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
Follow plans/blueprints to verify material components and specifications of machinery for setup or repair.
