NBC Universal Director of Sales - Telemundo Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada

KBLR Telemundo Las Vegas is looking for a driven and results-oriented multiplatform sales leader to join our team.   As Director of Sales, the successful candidate will oversee sales for our linear and non-linear product portfolio which provides Spanish and English language marketing solutions for brands and businesses across every industry.  The platforms overseen by this role reach Hispanic and non-Hispanic audiences primarily in the Las Vegas DMA via our linear TV station (KBLR), but also in markets throughout the United States through our non-linear platforms NBCU OTT Spot On & Peacock.  The Director of Sales will be responsible for partnering with advertising agencies and clients to create innovative, targeted, and unique multi-platform marketing and advertising solutions that deliver results across the portfolio. 

Essential Responsibilities

The Director of Sales will oversee Local  and National sales efforts to optimize overall revenue of the Las Vegas business unit and have the following responsibilities:

  • Work strategically with research, business development, and sales leadership across the division to grow revenue for Telemundo Las Vegas and NBCUniversal Local linear and non-linear platforms, including Peacock, Spot On and NBC / Telemundo Full Episode Player. 

  • Responsible for leading Sales team and formulate sales goals and competitive advantage strategies to achieve/surpass revenue targets.

  • Willing to work on avails and stay connected with clients to contribute to the overall success of the station.

  • Lead sales and planning, pricing strategies, inventory management, market growth and revenue forecasting across the station’s sales portfolio, including tentpoles. 

  • Partner with General Manager, Research, Traffic and Finance to provide local market insights throughout the budget planning process and presentations.

  • Direct the local sales effort through clear communication and detailed planning. Review client strategies, provide quick response to sales team to deliver on timelines and commitments.

  • Develop strategies to enhance traditional revenue opportunities as well as identify new revenue streams and lead execution of activation and integration sponsorships.

  • Work closely with Research to create presentations and determine estimates on programs.

  • Identify local decision makers impacting local buys.

  • Develop an understanding of our ad products, leverage tentpole events like the World Cup, Super Bowl, and the Olympics, and have solid consultative selling skills to best develop solutions to meet client needs

  • New business, revenue closure, account relationship building, customer satisfaction, and product implementation success are key responsibilities

  • Aggressively encourage/support development of strong business relationships with all buyers, media planners and brand managers throughout Nevada.

  • Ensure optimal market coverage, professional client engagements, increasing awareness of products, services, and capabilities.

  • Provide continual input and assessments to station and division leadership to drive ongoing improvements in sales strategy and approach.

  • Achieve Quarterly revenue targets and support station’s overall OCF achievement.

  • Manage the opportunity pipeline and revenue forecasting

  • Identify, coordinate, and attend key local marketing and advertising association events

  • Collaborate with NBCU sales teams across the division to share best practices, implement new strategies and utilizing expertise to drive results.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading media sales team

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business development and media sales

  • Minimum 2 years digital media sales experience.

  • A solid record of attaining or exceeding sales quotas by developing creative solutions that meet customers’ needs across traditional and non-traditional advertising categories

  • Effective, working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • A demonstrated record of growing market share and outperforming the market

  • Ability to understand the big picture and long-term objectives, positive mental attitude, sense of professionalism, team orientation, resourcefulness, and client focus.

  • Excellent communication skills, initiative, creativity, detail oriented, organizational, analytical and presentation skills required.

  • Strong sense of drive and ambition

  • Industry contacts, client list including both agencies and client direct contacts

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • A proven track record of managing a successful sales team

  • Degree in marketing, business, or communications

  • Some level of Spanish language skills (a plus)

  • Experience selling OTT/CTV ad solutions

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to successfully apply sales techniques; creative and analytic ability to use information such as behavioral, demo and geo targeting data plus industry research to make effective and persuasive verbal, written or electronic sales presentations.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Experience working with Salesforce platform

  • Ability to concentrate on priorities under deadline pressure

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
