State of Michigan - Department of Treasury Power Platform Specialist in Lansing, Michigan
This Departmental Specialist 13 role is within the Information Technology Business Integration Division (ITBID) of the Budget, Security, and Technology (BST) Bureau. This is the Power Platform small application specialist. Small applications have project teams made up of 5-10 members and have a short development life cycle. These applications emphasize rapid prototyping, frequent updates, and flexibility to accommodate changing requirements. Examples include project trackers, simple workflow management tools, and inventory trackers. Medium to large scale applications are not handled by Treasury. Collaborating closely with DTMB, Executive Operations, and diverse Treasury business units, the specialist is tasked with establishing and nurturing governance structures for small technology tools, ensuring their sustained effectiveness and integration into departmental operations. In addition, the specialist role will offer guidance and counsel to Treasury business areas seeking to adopt small technology tools and services. This encompasses providing comprehensive insights into security measures, budgetary considerations, and support-related information. The specialist will offer tailored recommendations and assistance to ensure that Treasury business areas can effectively navigate the implementation and utilization of these tools while aligning with security protocols, budget constraints, and support requirements.
This role assumes responsibility for actively soliciting and understanding the business requirements for small-scale application development projects, employing Microsoft Power Platforms to enhance operational efficiencies within Treasury business sectors. Tasks include collaborating with Treasury business units to deploy and maintain diverse Modern Technology projects and solutions, leveraging problem-solving abilities to address operational pain points, troubleshooting challenges as they emerge, and executing solution implementations. Furthermore, the role entails responding adeptly to complex inquiries, contributing to the development of a comprehensive Microsoft Power Platform Suite Governance framework, and undertaking special projects as delegated.
