DexSys 2nd shift Paint Robot Tech Team Lead in Lansing, Michigan

DexSys located in Lansing, Michigan manufactures front and rear fascias along with active grill shutters, rockers and actively launching programs.

Role Summary

  • Maintain proper ergonomics at all times when performing assigned tasks.
  • Clean all assigned work areas after completion of the required work, return all tools to proper storage area at the end of the shift and report any malfunctioning equipment to the Process Team Leader.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed in accordance with Company Policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • To exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment.
  • Lead and support process and maintenance activities consistent with departmental expectations and goals.
  • Ensure that the operation of the robotic equipment is in accordance to the control plans established in order to satisfy the customer quality standards and delivery schedule.
  • Lead, coordinate and verify corrective actions that prevent the occurrence of non-conformities relating to the product, process and/or quality system.
  • Maintain performance and attendance records for Robot Technicians.
  • Conduct daily process and communication meetings with Robot Technicians.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources Training Coordinator and ensure all Robot Technicians receive and complete the necessary training as identified by both Paint Department Management and Human Resources.
  • Ensure that the efforts within the rebuild cage are coordinated and that the minimum equipment and spare part inventory levels are maintained.
  • Interface with Paint Team Leaders and the Scheduling/Materials Administrator to ensure production requirements are satisfied.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement teams as assigned by the Paint Process Engineering Manager.
  • All duties as outlined in the Robot Technician job description.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Associates Degree in a related and technical field of study required. 

Six years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. 

Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.

Must be computer literate on the Windows platform.

Previous automotive finishing and robotic experience required.

Mechanical and electrical experience with industrial control an asset.
