Science Systems and Applications, Inc. Web Developer in Lanham, Maryland
Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) seeks a talented and goal-oriented individual to join our team supporting NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). The selected candidate will work closely with contractor and NASA scientists to provide web development for the earth system modeling group NASA’s GSFC.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Design, develop and maintain responsive and dynamic websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
Lead the development and implementation of complex PHP and CGI-based web applications, ensuring optimal performance and scalability
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create mock-ups and design user interfaces, incorporating feedback to refine and enhance the user experience
Manage version control for web development projects using Git and GitHub, ensuring code integrity and facilitating team collaboration
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. degree, or equivalent, plus 3 or more years of experience in web programming
Proven experience in web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Drupal, WordPress and PHP
Proficiency in building and maintaining database systems
General knowledge of SQL-driven database technologies
Demonstrated availability to work well in a team environment
Solid communication skills, both oral and written
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) like Drupal and Joomla.
Experience with Photoshop or similar design software for creating and editing web graphics
Proven ability to identify and address potential challenges during a redesign process
Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues
