Leidos is seeking a Senior Information Technology (IT) Product Manager to oversee application development in a SAFe Agile environment in delivering a cloud-based platform containing a portfolio of case management solutions/products on a large government contract. The Senior IT Product Manager will be accountable for building, testing, delivering, and maintaining integrated applications systems to support modernized and legacy systems currently in production. In this opportunity, the successful Senior IT Product Manager reports to the Project Manager and will have demonstrated technical and management skills in overseeing and delivering task orders related to a portfolio of complex projects involving the following competencies:

  • Project Management Principles and Practice

  • SAFe Agile processes

  • Engineering knowledge and skills

  • Enterprise Architecture Overview and Technical Architecture Skillsets

  • Standard Operation Procedures and Process Utilization

  • Artificial Intelligence, multi-cloud—AWS/Azure Cloud implementation Standards, Strategies, and cloud-deployed Enterprise applications, data science, lifecycle documentation processes and documentation

This position offers a hybrid work schedule of 50% telecommuting and 50% in office (Lanham, MD).

Tasks Include:

  • Ensures that the application/solutions development teams accomplish the timely delivery of working software code at the end of each iteration, using SAFe Agile methodologies. This includes the following:

  • Connect business needs from users and stakeholders to the delivery of tools and services

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the diverse array of products we offer the customer

  • Guide the teams in thinking through how to improve our delivery architecture, evaluate new capabilities, and optimize integrations between existing services

  • Bring real-world experience doing software or other technical delivery to inform how to scale services to promote lines of business

  • Solution project planning, scheduling, partnership, communication, and reporting applying techniques appropriate for projects using agile/iterative methodologies, including user story management

  • User interface development, designing, developing, integration, testing, and deploying project code

  • Ensure the delivery organization has the appropriate Agile coaching, project management resources and project team members to plan for and manage the timely delivery of working software code at the end of each iteration

  • Improve upon existing solutions, programs and processes using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation in researching new innovations, technologies, and tools

  • Coordinate with the IT executive customer across all disciplines related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, and other organizations

  • Ensure that all work on this contract complies with contract terms and conditions and is approved/coordinated with senior corporate managers

  • Coordinate with the Leidos program team in successfully executing task orders on this contract and act as the primary interface with the COR

  • Ensure performance to specified contract SLAs and direct changes to meet the SLAs

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years or Master’s degree with 10+ years of prior relevant experience in Enterprise Architecture Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

  • Background in directing people, particularly in teams

  • Background as a Product Manager, working and guiding Agile teams delivering releases as scheduled based on customer specifications.

  • Familiarity setting project roadmaps and managing schedules and milestones

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines

  • Ability to derive needs and requirements from customers and plan features for releases.

  • Ability to synthesize technical content and distill into key messages that will resonate with senior business directors within the customer organization and within Leidos

  • Experience meeting with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverable items, and effectively execute in accordance with approved plans

  • Managing enterprise architecture tools to replace aging repositories and tools while implementing an integrated strategic portfolio management solution to significantly improve portfolio-based planning, management, and analytics

  • Experience in the practice of SAFe Agile methodology

  • U.S. Citizenship or is a lawful permanent resident having been granted the right to live in the United States indefinitely

  • Proximity to work primarily onsite with the customer at the New Carrollton Federal Building, secondarily at Leidos HQ in Reston and remotely within one to two hours driving distance of the customer

  • Requires ability to obtain a Minimum Background Investigation including tax compliance

  • This offer is contingent upon Leidos being awarded a subcontract under which the work will be performed

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)

  • Background managing programs or projects in a Dept. of Treasury environment

  • Familiarity working with Case Management Systems

  • Background with no code/low code platforms e.g. (Pega, Salesforce, Service Now)

  • Certification in SAFe Agile methodology

  • Active IRS MBI

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
