Aerotek Millwright Apprentice in Langley, British Columbia

$34-$37/hr, Langley, BC

Job Description

Seeking a skilled 4th Year Millwright to perform preventive, scheduled, and breakdown maintenance, and install new equipment, including upcoming automation machinery within the next year. Responsibilities include dismantling, repairing, and rebuilding equipment parts, operating repair and installation tools, and adhering to HACCP and SQF requirements. The role involves working on both 'Ready to Eat' and 'Raw' sides of the facility to prevent cross-contamination, with a focus on ensuring smooth operation of various machinery such as packaging machines, meat stuffers, and mixers.

Daily Duties:

  • Following a weekly schedule and work orders

  • Doing preventative maintenance, scheduled maintenance and breakdown maintenance to reduce downtime

  • Installation of new equipment - new automation equipment coming within the next year

  • Dismantling, repairing of equipment, rebuilding of parts

  • Operate equipment used in the repair, installation or fabrication of equipment including but not limited to lathes, welders and hand tools

  • Comply with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and SQF (Safe Quality Food Program) requirements

  • Very hands on - lifting, bending, reaching

Skills Requirements:

  • Preventative Maintenance

  • Good computer skills

  • Experience in manufacturing environment maintenance

  • Hydraulics and pneumatics experience

Work Environment

The role is based in a refrigerated environment, about 2-4 degrees with occasional crowded spaces. The facility operates a production line from 6:30 AM to 11:30 PM in a 120,000 sq ft area. Team culture is family and team-oriented with a buddy system, promoting a long tenure and respectful environment. The work schedule includes shifts from Monday to Thursday (2 PM-12:30 AM) OR Tuesday to Friday (6 AM-4:30 PM), with additional financial incentives for various qualifications and shifts.
