As a senior highway design engineer, you will be challenged with the following roles and responsibilities including: Lead the design of transportation projects for public sector clients, including plans production, technical writing, quality control, and support in business development and proposal activities in Ohio. Lead the design of a vast array of roadway improvement projects, including the design of horizontal and vertical geometry, drainage design, maintenance of traffic, erosion control, signing and marking, plans production, design documentation, technical writing, quantities calculations, and other applicable design and project documentation. Oversee, train, and mentor junior roadway design staff in design and plan production tasks Coordination and communication within the project design team, including client contacts, internal staff, and subconsultant team members The ideal candidate possesses the essential qualifications and skill sets for this position including: 10+ years of transportation design experience with an emphasis on highway design BS or MS in Civil Engineering A current PE License in the state of Ohio or ability to obtain within the next six months is required * Extensive knowledge of the roadway design process, including the development of project geometry, drainage design, maintenance of traffic, erosion control design, signing and marking, quantities calculations, and other essential project and plan production activities and processes. Proficiency with MicroStation and GeoPak. OpenRoads experience is a plus. Familiarity with Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) standards Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative team-building skills are a must This position does require occasional travel up to 25% and requires visits to client office locations and project sites.
