How will you make an impact?

The Category Analyst - Indirect Procurement offers consultative insights to Category leaders and business teams, identifying new value generation opportunities. This role involves program assessment, metric analysis, data aggregation, and evaluation of key category insights to enhance procurement value across the corporation. It serves as a foundation for a future career in category management and/or procurement business.

This role will support the global indirect procurement team with business process and program analytics for various strategic spend programs. Strong procurement expertise is required to structure and analyze data, coordinating data sets and identifying improvement opportunities in support of indirect initiatives.

What will you do?

Scale of Responsibilities

  • Lead global category programs in excess of $700M, requiring multi-region, multi-source, and multi-customer coordination.

  • Develop and deliver executive-level presentations as part of the monthly operating model to propose and acquire support for key initiatives, provide implementation updates, and demonstrate value.

  • Evaluate operational supplier metrics to drive improvements to strategic programs and support category teams in leading supplier relationships.

  • Perform data discovery, analysis, and modeling to identify value, conduct financial and options analysis, and build implementation/resource plans.

  • Responsible for the monthly Value Capture Key Process Indicator reporting process and monthly communication plan on initiatives impacting global programs.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Consolidate and synthesize key data sets from multiple sources to develop programs/insights.

  • Track project targets and report progress as needed.

  • Use Lean/Practical Process Improvement methodologies to drive continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with Procurement Enablement on reporting cadences to achieve a single source of truth for savings pipeline and inflation.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business analysis, business administration, finance, or related field.

  • Certification in Project Management is desirable.

Experience

  • 5+ years of procurement category management, sourcing, or purchasing/supply chain experience.

  • 3+ years program/project management experience within a consultancy organization or consulting capacity is strongly preferred.

  • Experience analyzing procurement data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools.

  • Program management experience in a matrix-based procurement environment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Robust project management skills (Gantt charts, dashboards, key results, and baseline development).

  • Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to structure ideas clearly and concisely.

  • Outstanding analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong financial competence and ability to deliver assigned projects.

  • Ability to lead matrix project teams and navigate within a matrix environment.
