Jacobs General Ledger Accountant (Fixed Assets and Lease team) (W/M/X) in Krakow, Poland

The General Ledger accounting teams are the “gate-keepers” of the financial statements. GL accountants are experienced group of Chief Accountants responsible for end-to-end process. They are accountable for ensuring that business transactions are properly accounted for and accurately reflect the company’s accounting process. General Ledger Accountants are the owners of the financial statements for each separate entity, as well as consolidated statements for the entire company. The General Ledger is the central core of accounting information system that provides a complete record of financial transactions over the life of the company.

Key responsibilities* of our General Ledger Accountant (Fixed Asset and Lease Team) include:

  • Prepares monthly/quarterly account reconciliations, journal entries and other fixed asset related tasks

  • Performs monthly variance analysis and initiate corrective actions

  • Interacts with individuals worldwide to resolve/record asset setup/disposals/transfers

  • Ensures compliance with company policies, relevant accounting requirements, internal controls

  • Prepares monthly/quarterly reports and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information

  • Collects and analyzes data from Internal and External resources for reporting and accounting purposes

  • Supports internal and external audit

  • Drives process improvements/changes

  • Responsibilities may vary depending on region/entity

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, equivalent major or equivalent experience

  • 2 years of professional experience in accounting environment

  • 1 years of professional experience in general ledger

  • Experience with ERP accounting systems (Oracle R12 preferred)

  • English skills that allow to communicate fluently in every situation

  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel

  • Very good teamwork skills and positive, proactive attitude

  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving mindset

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Efficiency in time management

  • 1-2 days during close available in Central European Time Zone (UTC 1)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and controls

  • Experience with US Global Organization

  • Ability and willingness to be flexible and work late hours, especially during month end and quarter end close, to allow successful cooperation with US time zone-based teams and stakeholders
