Shell Supply Chain Commercial Lead in Krakow (City), Poland

The Supply Chain Buyer is responsible to create and manage optimal supply chains for Shell’s Qatar business by setting up most efficient E2E processes and providing first class procurement services to the local business. This includes the continuous improvement of the assigned contract portfolio in order to improve the HSSE performance, increase/stabilize the plant-production and to reduce the total cost of ownership without compromising on safety.

The relevant contract-portfolio to be managed is CCG (Catalyst, Chemicals, Gases) and Corporate (50%/50%):

CCG: Catalyst, Chemicals, Materials used for water treatment

Corporate: HR, HSSE, Finance audit, Insurances, Trainings, HR payroll, Medical insurance.

The SC Operations Upstream & Integrated Gas is part of the global CP Ops Function and is responsible for negotiating and managing Operational and Tactical contracts (which includes Low – Medium HSSE Risk contracts), driving the use of the proper procurement Channel (e.g. Trading Houses, P-Card, PO etc.), managing Tail Spend, and supporting EFA implementation as appropriate in line with Category Strategies.

This role provides the successful candidate an opportunity to see various parts of the P&T businesses through a CP lens and to demonstrate such imperative Group behaviours as Commercial Mindset, External Focus and Speed of delivery. The role has a direct impact on delivery of business cost improvement through 3rd Party Spend management. The main focus will be on Sourcing and Contract management with Suppliers’ and maximizing Value generation (creation and preservation) from dedicated categories.

Purpose:

  • Demonstrate HSSE behaviours in dealings with colleagues/contractors

  • Develop commercially competitive contracting & procurement strategies for the relevant scopes meeting the Business Demand while taking into account potential implementation of Global Strategies at local/regional level.

  • Setting and executing sourcing activities end to end across multiple Businesses/Functions. Conduct tenders, evaluate bids & drive negotiations with Suppliers in accordance with the recommended practices

  • Manage a Medium complexity and Medium-touch Contract portfolio

  • Post Award Management – Manage negotiated contracts by continuously ensuring highest quality delivery and developing/driving value improvements initiatives. Maximize value from existing Operational & Tactical contracts and implement Materials Category Strategy & Category contracts

  • Strategically manage Tail-end Spend by working in close coordination with Enterprise Category Managers and CP colleagues

  • Identify, develop & implement supply chain improvement opportunities by applying analytical skills and a commercial mindset.

  • Develop a portfolio strategy with the business in Qatar in order to adjust the ways of working and contractual spend to ever changing business needs and market environment.

  • Work together with Commercial Excellence team to manage the results of your portfolio e.g. by using current recommended tools and applying detailed analysis methods.

  • Channel Management – including liaise with Local and Global Procurement Category Managers to optimize spend through Manpower Agencies.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 4-years professional experience (incl. 2-years in Contracting & Procurement or similar discipline)

  • Good understanding of strategic, technical, legal, finance, taxation and commercial issues.

  • Proven track record of execution excellence & delivering results.

  • Sound understanding of general Business CP requirements and CP role to contribution to Business bottom line

  • Good commercial mindset and business acumen and understanding of procurement

  • Ability to make decisions and execute with support of stakeholders

  • Proven track record of execution excellence and delivering results

  • Well organized and able to manage competing priorities

  • Strong CI mindset

  • Knowledge of SAP and RtP process is beneficial

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently

  • Self Motivate and passionate to grow

Work Hours & Holidays – The daily routine will follow as per asset / project working hours and holidays. Candidates are welcomed to work every second Sunday (se per business needs and work schedule).
