Shell Payroll Functional Lead Netherlands in Krakow (City), Poland

HR Operations and Employee Experience delivers global HR services, remuneration and benefits to all businesses and employees. The Dutch Payroll team is responsible for the administration of Payroll and Third-Party payment processing for approximately 10.000 employees, supporting 16 Shell entities in Netherlands.

Reporting into the NL/UK Payroll Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of the Dutch Payroll team, a team of forward thinking and engaging professionals that love to work in a high-paced global environment. Together with our Regional Payroll Leadership Team, Payroll colleagues and key stakeholders, you will have a solid opportunity to re-define, standardize, and operationalize the new Global Payroll solutions for Dutch Payroll to ensure a world-class pay experience.

What is the role:

As the Payroll Functional Lead for Netherlands, you will be the Subject Matter Expert for end-to-end payroll activities, which includes processing Dutch payroll (salary and statutory payments), overseeing payroll administration activities against statutory directives/ company policies and performing financial controls.

More specifically, your role will include:

  • Deep subject matter expertise related to the end-to-end payroll process and legislation delivery in accordance with legal/regulations, compliance with FCM controls, monitoring posting to finance process and execution of statutory and third-party payments

  • Collaborate with counterparts across various lines of businesses to identify and implement process improvements to drive CI with key stakeholders (Country Payroll Team, SBO Payroll Specialists, HROps, FO-Payroll Accounting Manila, IT) to improve quality of payroll service delivery covering E2E payroll process design and controls

  • Responsible for close cooperation with transformation change agents and projects to drive successful technology change implementations including design, testing, and cutover (Workday, APRo, Global Payroll Strategy)

  • Use robust data mining capabilities and techniques to provide actionable insights in support of Shell’s business

  • Lead and coordinate the review of the payroll general ledger out of balances and follow-up action items to ensure outstanding open items are managed in the financial records

  • Work closely with IT support to identify and test SAP country configuration changes and break fix updates

  • Focal for complex problem solving and escalation related to policy review, legislative changes and E2E system assessment.

What We Need from You:

When it comes to the Dutch Payroll, your collaborative engagement style and positive, forward-thinking mindset will ensure success.

Furthermore, you will have:

  • Preferably, more than 5 years of payroll functional experience working Dutch SAP payroll, WorkDay HR and MS office applications

  • Experience in HR, Compensation, Systems, and Finance with deep expertise of Payroll, Expatriate Payroll/Tax, Federal/provincial employment legislation, labor standards, HR Policies and Procedures

  • Ability to lead initiatives, analytical problem solver, independent worker and strong team player who is detail oriented with an ability to working under tight deadlines and a significant amount of output

  • Exhibit a demonstrated ability to ensure a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and protection of employee data based on Data Privacy legislations

  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience dealing with numerous key stakeholders across all levels of management

  • Energy, enthusiasm, solution minded and can-do attitude

  • Sound judgmental skills to identify and resolve challenges and issues

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
