Job Description

As the Sr. Manager Space Planning & Insights, this job is to provide leadership and strategic direction overseeing capability implementation (processes, systems, and analytics) to provide merchandising cross functional team with opportunities to drive the business in alignment with company vision for Pilot.

  1. Partnering with cross-functional teams to develop and execute a comprehensive merchandising strategy aligned with company’s financial goals and objectives.

  2. Partner with merchandise category teams to develop and implement a balanced investment strategy by category and store type.

  3. Responsible for the development of business intelligence reporting and analytics to understand business performance, uncover root causes, and provide visibilities to leadership to drive sales.

  4. Responsible for the development of processes, reporting, and management of team members to build new and optimize existing programs/site capabilities to drive revenue and reduce costs.

  5. Review and analyze consumer demographics characteristics, sales trends, retail landscape and other relevant data to interpret, financially plan for and react to emerging market trends and conditions.

  6. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive integrated merchandising initiatives and achieve business objectives.

  7. Process-oriented, with ability to flex from high-level strategy to fine attention to detail.

  8. Model behaviors that support Pilot Flying J’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level.

  9. Ensure all activities follow rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  10. Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in retail, business, or category management.

  • 5+ years in an analytical role required.

  • 5+ years of experience in Blue Yonder solutions.

  • 5+ years customer interaction.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Specialized Knowledge

  • Knowledge of retail concepts and merchandising.

  • Knowledge to industry data and software (i.e., IRI, Tableau)

  • Advanced knowledge of retail software (i.e., Blue Yonder).
