Intellijoint Surgical Financial Analyst in Kitchener, Ontario

The Company 

Intellijoint Surgical develops effective and easy to use products to enhance surgeons’ care and patients’ lives. Today, Intellijoint technology lives in the operating room helping surgeons improve implant positioning during hip and knee replacement surgeries. Our technology has been used in over 50,000 surgeries - helping us to gain real-world feedback from patients and surgeons to improve our products. We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team to help bring innovative technologies to the market.  

 

The Position 

The Financial Analyst is self-motivated, hands-on, and detail oriented with a continuous desire to improve processes and identify best practices. This role works to align budget, financial projects, and operating forecasts with the strategic vision of Intellijoint Surgical. Collaborating across departments in the organization, the Financial Analyst, will use their analytical skills to look for opportunities, while considering risk. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the VP of Finance on strategic initiatives within the organization, supporting the scaling and growth of Intellijoint Surgical. 

As a snapshot, we are looking for someone who is: 

  • A continuous learner, seeking an opportunity to continue to grow as a finance professional and make an impact to further the success of a “tech-for-good" organization 

  • Detail-oriented while maintaining the “big-picture” strategic vision of the organization 

  • Able to communicate financial information and analysis to audiences outside the Finance team 

     

Main Duties: 

  • Become an integral part of our Finance team working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing and R&D supporting the company’s strategic vision.  

  • Develop business cases, analyze key metrics, and the impacts to revenue, determining the viability of strategic initiatives, and monitoring the execution of these initiatives, updating future assumptions. 

  • Work directly with the VP of Finance to develop and continually improve budgeting, financial projects and operating forecast. 

  • Work with departments to prepare budgets and consolidate them into one overall corporate budget in line with the strategic vision at IJS. 

  • Develop financial models, analyze them to support strategic initiatives and provide these insights to internal stakeholders 

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for management and the board of directors. 

  • Identify anomalies or variances from expected results with interpretive analyses. 

  • Actively identify opportunities aimed at driving efficiencies, automating processes, and developing best practices. 

  • Work with the VP of Finance to perform special projects and analysis of financial results as required. 

     

Skills and Experience to Enable Success: 

  • Post-Secondary degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field 

  • 3+ years of progressive finance experience  

  • CPA or CFA Designation or pursuing 

  • Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience 

  • Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 

  • Demonstrated accounting and modelling strength 

  • Demonstrated strength in project management and organizational skills 

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, focused on scaling and growth
