Diabetes Care Kilkenny

Our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, opening in 2024, reflects the growing demand for Abbott's global Diabetes Care products. The facility will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies, including the FreeStyle Libre 3, a system that automatically delivers real-time, up-to-the-minute glucose readings, with the smallest and thinnest wearable glucose sensor that provides unsurpassed 14-day accuracy and optional glucose alarms directly to smartphones. This enables people with diabetes to live the best and fullest lives they can.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provideleadershipand direction to team (Technical,Operationsand Quality) to enhance theperformance in the delivery of supply of Freestyle Libre family of products are supply to the market on time and in full.

  • Work with Operations managementa to ensureconsistencyof approach to building products.

  • Act as key technical interface between both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Manage multiple complex projects in parallel across multiple locations withcross functional, cross companyteams

  • Identify and delivery CI Projects.

  • Develops and manages anOperationsCommunication strategyto provide regular updates to Managementwith respect to project status

  • Developsstrategic visionfor the delivery of complexengineeringprojects, reducing time to market and improving RFTperformance

  • Create and maintainKPIsfor the Manufacturing to ensure thatprocess improvementactivities are directedcorrectly

  • Review and agreeengineeringresource levels to ensure continuity ofservice

  • Create adevelopmentculture where staff are encouraged and empowered to develop as recognised industrySMEs

  • Coach and Mentor team members onperformanceanddevelopmentneeds.

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining andpromotinggood workingrelationshipwithin the group.

  • Responsible for ensuring that the Departmentquality systemis implemented and that its effectiveness is maintained (e.g. Training Records, closure of ER/CAPAs, DM PM activities). Manage the metric for Work Order completion to ensure target levels are achieved.

Experience/Background

  • Minimum NFQ Level 7 Qualification in Engineering/Science/Manufacturing or related discipline.

  • Strong knowledgeofdesigncontrol,validationinaGMPenvironment.

  • Proven track record of managing and successfully delivering complex projects.

  • Demonstratetheabilitytomanagecrossfunctionalrelationshipsincluding externalstakeholders.

  • Experienceintheimprovementandoptimisationofahighlycomplexhighvolumesautomationequipment.

  • Aprovenproblemsolverwhocansetclearstrategyandprioritise. A provenability to communicateeffectively at all levels.

  • Abilitytotakepromptactiontoaccomplishobjectivesandtoworkunderowninitiative
