PARC Retirement Living Night Housekeeper, Full-Time in Kelowna, British Columbia

Full-Time (30-40 hrs) I Hourly Rate: $22.94 - $23.40 | Benefitted Position

Are you a maintenance and security professional who is looking for more meaning in your work?

PARC Retirement Living is an award-winning developer and operator of independent senior-living communities. We’re seeking a Night Housekeeper for Cristalina PARC, our new community in Kelowna which will open its doors in spring-summer 2024.

Welcome to Cristalina PARC

PARC communities are inspiring spaces, where our residents come, not just to live – but to live comfortably, and engage with a vibrant community of like-minded people. Now, we’re bringing our unique offering to Kelowna: in the heart of the vibrant Pandosy Village, Cristalina PARC is starting to blossom. Just one block from Lake Okanagan, the residence is set to open in 2024, with 133 gorgeously appointed suites. This modern, sustainably designed nine-story building is purpose-made for independent living, with vitality and social connection built right in. Residents can enjoy fine dining, lounge area, fitness activities, arts, culture, and gardening – or just sit back and take in beautiful views of the lake with a glass of fine wine.

As a PARC Night Housekeeper, you are a caretaker of this vision, responsible for night-shift janitorial and safety/security duties. Most importantly, Night Housekeepers are the first responders in case of overnight emergencies.

This role includes:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing common areas according to a pre-set schedule.

  • Performing laundry services as needed.

  • Answering phone calls and screening visitors at building entry points.

  • Conducting security patrols and monitoring video surveillance to ensure resident and staff safety throughout the night.

  • Responding to resident calls and emergencies; providing First Aid and contacting emergency services and the on-call manager as required.

  • Logging and communicating overnight issues or occurrences.

The perks of PARC Hospitality

  • Meaningful work. How many hospitality jobs can say that? At PARC, you’ll be making a positive difference in seniors’ lives, each and every day.

  • Refreshments while you work. PARC’s chef-prepared cuisine rivals the best in BC, and we offer subsidized daily meals and beverages to employees.

  • Flexible hours and location. We’re open to scheduling when and where it works for you – with guaranteed shifts every week. PARC has five great locations across the Lower Mainland.

  • A supportive, diverse team and training opportunities. We believe in giving our people opportunities to advance wherever we can.

  • High-value benefits. We offer Extended Health, Vision, Dental, Life, AD&D and Disability Insurance, plus an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), to help protect your health, family and way of life. Plus: birthdays off with pay, parental top-ups and much more!

It takes a special kind of person to work here – does this sound like you?

  • You’re an upbeat team member and customer-service professional who brings positive energy to all you do.

  • You have at least one year of janitorial or housekeeping experience in the hospitality or senior-living industry.

  • You have solid knowledge of security procedures. Building security training and/or completion of a Building Services Worker Program are assets, as well.

  • You have completed Grade 12 or equivalent, and are able to read, write and effectively communicate in English.

  • You possess current WHMIS, First Aid and CPR certifications. A Health Care Aide qualification and FOODSAFE Level 1 would be assets, too.

  • You’re able to self-direct and work effectively with minimal supervision, and also respond to emergency situations effectively when required.

  • You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and other professional services engaged with our residents.

At PARC Retirement Living we understand the importance of immunization to protect our residents, team members and visitors from COVID-19. As such, a prerequisite of employment is that all new hires are fully vaccinated as approved by Health Canada. We also require a Criminal Record Check, and a TB test within the first month of employment.
