Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent years of related work experience required

  • Experience in retail environment preferred

  • Experience with merchandise financial and assortment planning process preferred

Work Experiences:

  • 5+ years of related work experience required

Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills

  • Excellent interpersonal written, verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels

  • Maintain the customer’s perspective as a driving force behind business decisions and activities

  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload in a fast paced, frequently changing environment while remaining detailed and organized

  • Ability to find and maximize business opportunities for growth and profitability for assigned category

  • Effective time management skills to support multiple projects and effectively manage a large volume of work

  • Responds positively to change, embracing and using new practices or values to accomplish goals and solve problems

  • Ability to make decisions and choose a course of action or develop solutions based on facts, constraints, and probable consequences

  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStrategy, SAS Merchandise Planning (or equivalent planning software experience preferred)

  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Category Management Teams to achieve sales, profit, and inventory relations objectives through efficient planning and analysis

  • Ensure consistent and accurate analysis procedures are utilized throughout the assortment planning and clustering process

  • Collaborate with Category Management team to derive appropriate Consumer Categories and Store Traits that drive business

  • Provide input concerning system enhancements and implementations relating to Cluster Assortment planning and analysis

  • Maintain company-wide decisions and best practices as it pertains to Consumer Categories and Store Traits

  • Assist in Clustering processes, including but not limited to maintaining documentation and training content

  • Collaborate with Category Space Managers and Category Management teams to derive appropriate clusters for each POG

  • Assist with maintaining regionally relevant trends

  • Guide system enhancements and implementations relating to Financial and Assortment planning and analysis

  • Assist to create and maintain store clusters

  • Provide solutions to user inquiries and concerns

  • Maintain consistent and advanced knowledge of the SAS Merchandise Planning system, Size Optimization, Clustering, MicroStrategy reporting including admin functions and how they communicate

  • Observe industry trends in an effort to apply best-in-class practices to Academy

  • Coordinate the creation of ad hoc reports and analysis, as needed

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures, and safety rules

  • Duties may change; team member may be required to perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to work flexible hours such as evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary

  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties

  • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior
