Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Kansas City, Missouri

Description We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Assistant for a role based in Kansas City, Missouri. The HR Assistant will be responsible for various duties within the Human Resources department of a busy electrical contracting company. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Managing daily mail operations within the Human Resources department

• Verification of employment for employees

• Handling Unemployment Claims

• Generating required reports

• Assisting with recruitment and onboarding processes for new hires

• Maintaining organized filing systems

• Providing knowledge of company policies and procedures

• Responding to employee inquiries

• Managing leave, including knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and state leave regulations

• Maintaining and managing employee files

• Ensuring I-9 compliance and purging outdated records

• Undertaking daily clerical functions

• Assisting with the review of payroll records weekly during payroll processing

• Creating and maintaining employee files

• Ensuring employee accountability forms have been created for all employees terminated for cause

• Assisting with processing employee terminations

• Managing weekly 401(k) wire transfers, reconciliation, loan and feedback files

• Creating positive pay daily for all off-cycle checks

Projects:

• Reviewing, updating, and/or creating job descriptions

• Digitizing paper employee files for electronic storage

• Consolidating all electronic employee information into one file

• Organizing and cleaning up electronic HR files to ensure information is saved accurately.

Skills:

• Proficiency in HRMS

• Knowledge of benefit functions

• Familiarity with compensation administration

• Understanding of compliance regulations

• Experience with employee relations

• Proficiency in iCIMS

• Familiarity with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne

• Knowledge of FMLA regulations

• Experience with Human Resources (HR) Administration. Requirements • Proficiency in Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS)

• Experience with benefit functions including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks

• Knowledge of compensation administration to ensure fair and equitable pay rates

• Understanding of compliance regulations in human resources, including labor laws and data privacy

• Ability to manage and improve employee relations, fostering a positive work environment

• Familiarity with iCIMS, an applicant tracking system used for recruitment

• Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, an integrated applications suite of comprehensive enterprise resource planning software

• Knowledge of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and its application in the workplace

• Proven experience in Human Resources (HR) administration, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee training
