About the Position

The Group Sales & Event Planning Manager is responsible for selling guest rooms, meeting space, as well as providing amazing service to those same groups. Primary sales efforts are in Guest rooms, Banquet Food and Beverage and includes menu planning, agenda setting and hotel meeting services. Duties also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Be incredibly friendly, customer centric, and have FUN in a team environment.

•Solicit Group business directly and jointly with others through the preparation, execution, and completion of action plans.

•Provide a high level of exposure of the hotel in specific markets assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing.

•Achieve a strong pace and funnel to meet and exceed individual assigned revenue goals.

• Conduct sales calls locally or domestically using all resources provided by company.

•Develop/Create exciting and memorable site inspections to accompany inventive and creative proposals.

• Conduct outside sales calls to deliver new business and maintain existing business relationships.

• Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.

• Assist in developing strategies to increase share from competitors.

• Plan, up sell and detail programs with clients including; verification and modification of space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes, decorations, etc.

• Communicate requirements of clients to all hotel departments through event resumes, event orders, pre-convention meetings with clients, internal departmental meetings, and event order meetings

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of progressive hotel sales experience is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

• Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office.

• Maintain consistent verbal and written communication with clients & team.

• Active listener.

• Work effectively with other departments.

• Ability to work some weekends.

• Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
