Position Specific Description

This position will support generation and load business managers in hedging electric price congestion exposure primarily via FTR auctions in various markets including ERCOT, PJM, SPP, MISO, NYISO and CAISO. This position will also support auction revenue rights (ARR) value maximization analysis and strategies. This role involves identifying fundamental drivers of grid congestion, such as outages and system topography changes, and applying that knowledge to predict impacts on future congestion pricing. Responsibilities include developing quantitative tools to inform FTR auction bidding strategies and coordinating with business management, forward traders, accounting and operations team to execute those strategies.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for supporting structured transactions in the energy marketing group through the development of sophisticated models. Employees in this role lead the development of pricing models, identify arbitrage relationships and develop trading strategies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads the implementation of models into the existing trade floor pricing and risk management infrastructure

  • Monitors daily Value at Risk, position, and other risk-related measures

  • Develops sophisticated models in support of structured transactions

  • Formulates and maintains daily forward curves and/or volatility surfaces

  • Provides management with daily Profit and Loss and pricing information

  • Supports the development and execution of the company's trading program

  • Assists in preparing presentations

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

  • Experience: 5+ years
