Eaton Corporation Lead Mechanical Design Technician in JUAREZ, Mexico

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Technician.

What you’ll do:

Job summary

Lead Technician is responsible for accurately interpreting Parts/assemblies supplied drawings, specifications, and Engineering notes. It is also responsible for loading part numbers into ERP/MRP system and revise bills-of-material for internal customers in Manufacturing and Purchasing departments. Take direction from the Design Engineer or Lead Technician in the conceptualization and design of products.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead a Team of Design Technician prioritizing their work, establishing their daily Goals, tracking accomplishments, identifying trainning needs.

  • Create 3D CAD models, CAD assembly and detail drawings that describe these products, in conformance with department drafting practices.

  • Create associated bills of material using current computer software programs.

  • Maintain and update assembly and detail drawings for existing products, to ensure they conform to industry standards utilizing Inventor/AutoCAD.

  • Setting up components in the system for ordering

  • Upload and set up new parts to MRP/ERP systems"

Qualifications:

Education level required

  • Unfinished or in-process university degree, preferably engineering.

Years and area of experience required

  • Minimum experience of 5 years of 3D modeling

Technical knowledge

• Able to analyze technical documents and specifications to understand critical requirements

• BOM/MRP/ERP experience

• Critical thinking and problem-solving ability

• Fluent bilingual English-Spanish (written and spoken)

• General knowledge about how an ERP system works

• 3D modeling experience (Autocad, Inventor, Solidworks, Creo, Catia, etc)

• Highly analytical and detail orientated with a focus on process improvement.

• Proficiency with various computer software and Applications such as Excel, Word, MS Project, Minitab, and Outlook"

Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.

• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and take initiative to solve problems. "
