The Delivery Dispatcher coordinates delivery and pick-up for requested loads by using the best judgement and discretion to provide efficient and timely deliveries, managing assets, and managing reporting needs. Customer service and efficiency must be a top priority.

Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Essential Job Duties:

Provide Efficient and Timely Delivery for all Departments

  • Maximizing capacity by ensuring productive use of all assets, equipment, and drivers to deliver $200 million worth of rental equipment and all Service/Sales/Parts requests

  • Utilize EBS, Point-of-Rental and GPS software to ensure delivery customer service is optimum

  • Ensure maximum productivity by achieving or exceeding Company-established goals by successfully routing vehicles in real time

  • Assign loads to drivers based on designated routes, driver location and truck capabilities

  • Prepare, update, and dispense the daily route schedule

  • Courteously interact with customers as required

  • Report driver issues or concerns to appropriate management for resolution

  • Work with rental department to troubleshoot any delivery issues

  • Communicate with customers and departments regarding changes to schedule, delivery, pickups, and cancellations

  • Ensures set-up errors and missed pickups are reported and resolved

  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures

    Manage Delivery Department assets

  • Communicate truck and trailer issues from drivers that arise during delivery

  • Communicates and follows-up on sales opportunities, problems at customer site, DVIR repairs, equipment swaps, and safety issues reported by drivers to rental team and Delivery Logistics Manager

    Manage Driver Reporting

  • Complete daily reporting on driver's daily deliveries to Delivery Logistics Manager and Delivery Supervisor

    Use Point of Rental as it relates to delivery

  • Ensuring all loads are logged in the Transportation log correctly

  • Ensure all departments are using the log correctly

  • Utilize point of rental for dispatch functions

  • Completes reporting using Point of Rental

  • Coordinates schedule changes to rental department and Delivery Logistics Manager

    Required Skills/Experience

    One year of experience in a dispatching role

    One year of experience in the rental/equipment industry preferred.

    Ability to work in fast-paced environment while multi-tasking to meet customers' needs

    Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Outstanding customer service skills

    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

    Ability to organize and independently manage time

    Minimum 21 years of age

    Safe driving record

    Education

    High School Diploma or equivalent

    Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions

    This position spends most of the time in an indoor office environment with a controlled climate and occasionally will work in a warehouse environment with exposure to heat and cold.

    This position requires sitting at a computer desk for long periods of time with constant use of a computer keyboard while reading the computer screen.

    This position will continuously talk, hear, and read in verbal and written communication. And will occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

    This position will continuously use hands to type.

    Position requires driving vehicle to and from company and customer locations.
