Wolters Kluwer Lead Enterprise Software Engineer | MuleSoft Technical Lead in Jefferson City, Missouri

Wolters Kluwer CT Corporation (CT) is looking for a Lead Enterprise Software Engineer, MuleSoft. The position is remote.

The MuleSoft Technical Lead is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integration solutions using MuleSoft technology. The ideal candidate will have expertise in MuleSoft platform, excellent understanding of API-Led approach and design best practices, experience designing and delivering complex integrations, and ability to deliver high quality integration solutions working with MuleSoft developers, architects, and product owners. This role will serve as a point of escalation for technical issues as well as provide technical and functional direction to an Agile software development team.

Location/Office : The position is remote but requires occasional travel to our NYC office. Strong preference for the candidates from East Coast/EST and/or CST time zone.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze integration requirements and build capabilities (APIs, services, and data flows) connecting to multiple enterprise systems

  • Design, document, develop, and maintain integrations using industry best practices and design patterns

  • Identify and drive quick POCs for feasibility to meet the solution needs and provide quick estimates

  • Serve as a technical resource for developers, product owners, and other program leadership in an agile model

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to support ongoing MuleSoft enhancements and improvements

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and system errors, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations

  • Ensure that all solutions comply with industry best practices and MuleSoft standards for security, data privacy, and governance

  • Provide technical leadership and coordination with onsite and offshore software engineers, resolving challenges, and ensuring alignment with release/sprint goals

  • Deliver high quality(reusable, performant, scalable, available) integration solutions supporting enterprise needs

  • Develop and/or review functional and technical requirements, raising potential issues and participating actively in design discussions

  • Collaborate with the support-teams around production incidents involving integrations and ensure that timely resolution/recovery and preventative measures are taken to avoid recurrence in all phases of the software life cycle

  • Support and implement culture and practices around integrations

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, Master’s degree is a plus

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development with a programming background

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with MuleSoft technology

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a technical lead

  • At least one MuleSoft certification (Developer or Architect)

  • Proficiency in API designs, integration designs, and excellent understanding of API-led connectivity approach

  • Experience designing and implementing complex integration APIs/Services across multiple systems/databases

  • Deep understanding of REST, HTTP, MQ, JSON, SOA, and messaging patterns

  • Deep understanding of API Security, Policies, and contracts

  • Experience in standing up and maintaining MuleSoft environment in an enterprise setup with excellent understanding of MuleSoft infrastructure components such as VPC, VPN, Load Balancers, and Certificates

  • Good hands on experience with API Manager, Runtime Manager, RAML/Swagger, and Exchange

  • Excellence in test-driven development, unit testing using mUnit, and automated testing

  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)

  • Experience leading and working with software development teams that include onsite, distributed, and offshore teams

  • Excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle (Agile/Scrum/SAFe), including experience with continuous integration using Copado

  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills to set up and interpret logic, data tables, and rule relationships

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Self-motivated individual with excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high-quality work, both personally and at a team level

Skills/Tools:

  • MuleSoft AnyPoint Platform, mUnit, AnyPoint Studio

  • Java, Maven

  • Cloud Concepts (AWS Preferred)

  • Git/GitHub

Certifications:

  • MuleSoft Certifications (Platform Architect and/or integration architect)

Preferred:

  • Experience in establishing MuleSoft C4E and best practices

  • MuleSoft Certifications (Platform Architect and/or integration architect)

  • API Spec Designs with Swagger

  • Experience integrating with Salesforce, Pega, and OpenText platforms

  • Experience implementing CI/CD for MuleSoft applications with Azure DevOps
