General Summary: The Space Management Consultant will provide guidance for the day-to-day Facilities Space Management Operations. This position ensures that Consumers Energy Facilities space adapts to our ever-changing work styles and implements and maintains a strategic space information system that assures accurate physical space utilization and inventory. The Space Management Consultant will actively engage in client interactions by bringing functional expertise to stake holders to drive business solutions by utilizing lean processes, removing waste, and tracking performance indicators.

Bachelor of Science in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering or Business AND 2-4 years of experience working with Director level leadership or higher; including managing all aspects of performance and Office Space Management; including safety, goals, adherence to standards and guidelines, employee development and productivity. [OR] Associate degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering or Business AND 6 or more years of experience working with Director level leadership or higher;including managing all aspects of performance and Office Space Management; including safety, goals, adherence to standards and guidelines, employee development and productivity. [OR] High School Diploma with 10 or more years of applicable experience

In this role, you will:

Contributes to the alignment of Facilities Space Management strategies to improve quality and reduce cost of materials and improve office space utilizations. Contributes to initiatives internally and externally to improve standardization on our office furniture standards. Contributes to adhering to all financial elements ($3M+/-) of Facilities Space Management including Furniture, Furniture installations, Outside Contractors, etc. Assists with contract creation, scope, negotiation, execution, and analysis of contracts in excess of $10M for furniture and furniture Installation and Moving contracts. Provide creative, effective, and cost-efficient solutions meeting Space Management objectives. Strategy and Vision development and tactical execution of all productivity and efficiency statewide office space plan allocations. Contributes to managing over 3.5M square feet of buildings for furniture and space allocation, advanced level of technical knowledge. Ensuring all buildings are legally/regulatory compliant and safe to occupy and help lead the decision-making process to ensure precision in spending. Provide industry best practices, benchmarking data, and functional discipline to achieve world class performance while delivering hometown service.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills in a fast-paced work environment. Strong leadership, communication, teaming and partnering skills.
